Storm Let One Slip Away in 100 Mile

The Kamloops Storm went in to the Christmas break on a sour note as the host 100 Mile Wranglers scored 4 third period goals in a 7-4 win over the Storm in KIJHL action Friday night. The game was tied 1-1 after one period but in the second period Kamloops took a 3-2 lead almost to the 2nd period intermission but a giveaway leading to an open net goal tied the game after two periods and setting the tone for the third period. A penalty shot goal gave the Wranglers a 4-3 lead before Nik Dimopoulos tied the game shortly after. But back to back power play goals by 100 Mile put the hometown boys ahead for good. An empty net goal concluded the scoring in a game that Kamloops felt they let slip away. Keenan Holland had a goal and an assist while Teghan Mullin had two assists. Luca D’Amore and Braycen Dube also potted markers for Kamloops who went 2 for 6 on the power play but only killed 2 of 5 power plays they faced. Dawson Holitzki took the loss in net stopping 32 of 38 shots. The Storm had 36 shots of their own.
