Ewert Leads Storm To 4-2 Win

Harrison Ewert played in his 100th KIJHL game and he did it in style as the 20 year old forward had a goal and two assists to lead the Kamloops Storm to a 4-2 season finale win over the 100 Mile House Wranglers to also clinch second place in the Doug Birks Division standings. Ewert, Ryan Larsen, and Ty Horner got the Storm out to a 3-2 first period lead. That lead held after a scoreless second period but Owen Aura on the power play with just over 2 minutes left closed out the scoring and sealed the win for the home team. Colton Phillips-Watts stopped 25 of 27 shots and both teams were 1 for 4 on the power play. Kamloops will open the 2023 KIJHL playoffs Friday February 17th 7pm at home against the third place Sicamous Eagles. Game two will be Saturday February 18th 7pm as well.
