Heat Burn Storm in Second for 6-4 Win

The Chase Heat erased a 3-1 first period deficit with 4 unanswered goals in the second period to take a 5-3 lead after two en route to a 6-4 win over the Kamloops Storm on Saturday in Chase. Brendan Kirschner had tied the game at 1-1 after Chase opened the scoring 35 seconds into the game. Ty Horner and Kyle Sanford scored back to back shorthanded goals at the end of the first period to give the Storm their 3-1 lead. After the Heats outburst in the second the teams traded late third period goals to close out the scoring. Kasey Jackson potted the Storm’s final goal. Colton Phillips-Watts stopped 13 of 18 shots thru two periods while Cody Creasy stopped all 7 shots he faced in the third as the Heat scored in to an empty net. Kamloops was 0-1 on their power play and a perfect 2-2 on the pk.
