Storm Down Heat 4-3

The Kamloops Storm scored 2 power play goals in the second period on a double minor to Chase Heat defenceman Matteo Bordin to break open a 1-1 tie and then hung on for a 4-3 win over the visitors from the Shuswap. Evan Clark and Harrison Ewert had a goal and an assist each while Devin Benson chipped in with two assists. Alek Erichuk had a strong game and was rewarded with a goal. Evan Douglas also scored for the Storm in support of winning netminder Colton Phillips-Watts who made 21 saves. The Storm fired 31 shots at Chase netminder Jack Osmond. The game was tied 1-1 after one period and Kamloops led 3-2 after two. Ewert’s goal put the Storm ahead 4-2 before the Heat scored a late goal with their netminder pulled. Kamloops was 2 for 7 on the power play and 4 for 5 on the pk.
