For Immediate Release: Sunday, October 29, 2023

KAMLOOPS, BC—The Kamloops Storm’s first extended roadswing of the 2023-24 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League season was a success. The Storm played three games in three nights against teams from the Neil Murdoch Division.

Kamloops won twice and lost once. Friday night (Oct 27), They fell 4-2 to the Beaver Valley Nighthawks before rebounding to take the Nelson Leafs 5-2 on Saturday (Oct 28) and beat the Castlegar Rebels 4-3 Sunday (Oct 29) in a shootout. Lock Stefanishyn with the winning marker in OT in that game.

Team captain Evan Clark had three goals on the weekend. Two of them were against Nelson. Ryan Larson had a pair of goals in Sunday’s victory. Defenceman Sam Lewis had two goals on the weekend (one against Beaver Valley, the other against Nelson). Colton Phillips Watts earned the victory in Castlegar while Dustin Holitzki was the winner against Nelson on Saturday.

Kamloops now has a record of 9-3. That is good enough for second place in the KIJHL Birks Division. They are two points back of front running Sicamous. Both teams have played 20 games.

The Storm next play Friday (Nov 3) in Osoyoos against the Coyotes. Their next home game is Sunday November 4th at Mac Isle when they host Revelstoke. Opening face off is 5 PM PDT that night.
