Storm win back to back powered by Phillips-Watts brothers

KAMLOOPS, BC—The Kamloops Storm moved back into the win column with back to back victories this weekend (Nov 10-11) in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
The Storm were powered by performance by the brothers Phillips-Watts: forward Jake and goaltender Colton en route to a 7-1 win at home Friday over the Osoyoos Coyotes and a 3-0 victory on the road Saturday in Chase.
On Friday night: Jake Phillips Watts had a hat trick while brother Colton stopped 21 of 22 shots for the victory. Other goal scorers on Friday for Kamloops were Ryan Larsen, Thomas Clark, Andon Rende and Sam Zulyiak. Kamloops led 2-0 after one and 5-0 after two periods.
On Saturday, Colton turned aside 22 shots for his second shutout of the KIJHL season. Sam Lewis had a goal and one assist for Kamloops. The Storm scored in every period. Ty Horner and Austin Barrett had the other goals for Kamloops.
The Storm sit in a tie for second spot in the KIJHL Doug Birks Division with the Revelstoke Grizzlies. Kamloops has 12 wins and four defeats.
Their next action is Tuesday night (Nov 14) at Mac Island against the 100 Mile House Wranglers. Puck drop is 7:30 PM.
With the loss Saturday by the way, Chase falls to 5-9-1 on the year. They had lost Friday night (Nov 10) at home to the Creston Valley Thundercats 3-1. The Heat’s next game is Friday night (Nov 17) when they entertain Sicamous Eagles at the Art Holding Memorial Arena.
