Game One went back and forth but in the end it was Trevor Kennedy’s power play goal with under 4 minutes left in the game that stood out as the game winner in a 4-3 Chase Heat victory. The Heat led 2-1 after one period as Bryan Fraser and Brayden Haskell got goals around Storm’s Evan Douglas. Kamloops took a 3-2 lead after two periods as Alek Erichuk and Harrison Ewert scored. The Heat however tied the game just under 7 minutes into the third as Jacob Biensch scored setting up Kennedy’s heroics. Erichuk and Ewert both finished with a goal and two assists while Cody Creasy stopped 14 of 18 shots he faced. Kamloops fired 34 shots at Heat goalie Jack Osmond. Game two goes Wednesday night at 7pm.
