Storm Open With Thrilling OT Win

The Kamloops Storm opened up the 2021/2022 KIJHL season with a thrilling 7-6 overtime win over the Osoyoos Coyotes in front of close to 300 fans at Mac Island Arena Friday night. Zak Anderson scored his second goal of the game on a breakaway in the first overtime period to send the Kamloops fans home happy. Peyton Kelly led the way for the Storm scoring a first period hat-trick while Harrison Ewert had a goal and two assists. Hudson Cameron had a goal and an assist and Liam Dumelie added two assists. Colton Phillips-Watts made 30 saves to get the win in net. The Storm led 3-2 after one but the game was tied 4-4 after two. After taking a 6-4 lead the Kamloops gave up two late power play goals that forced overtime leading to Anderson’s heroics.

The Storm will host Revelstoke Saturday night at Mac Island at 7pm
