Gritty Effort But Storm Lose In OT

The Kamloops Storm worked hard tonight but dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to the Grand Forks Border Bruins on Saturday night. Grand Forks scored two quick first period goals to lead heading in to period two. Ryan Larsen scored the lone goal of the second period to cut the lead in half heading to the third. Harrison Ewert with his 4th of the season tied the game with less than 7 minutes left to play to set up overtime. After controlling much of the extra frame Kamloops could not beat Border Bruin goalie Ethan Shebansky who made 33 saves on the night. Grand Forks scored on two of three chances in the shootout while Kamloops could only score once (Larsen) to get the win. Cody Creasy stopped 32 of 34 shots fired his way. The Storm were 0 for 2 on the power play and 4 for 5 on the penalty kill.
