The Kamloops Storm opened the 2025/2026 KIJHL in style as they overpowered the Chase Heat 7-3 Friday night in Kamloops. The first period was a wild affair ending in a 3-3 as Teghan Mullin on the power play, Noah Paulsen, and Nicklas Wytrychowski tallied for Kamloops. The Storm outshot the Heat 18-8 in the opening period. Kamloops took the lead for good in the second period as Alex Schaub rifled home a one-timer followed by a bar-down effort from Carson Werbowesky. Noah Paulsen and Emery Corpe rounded out the scoring in the third as Kamloops went on to outshot Chase 56-22 on the night. Brenner Fyfe gets the win in net. The Heat were 1 for 5 on the power play while the Storm were 3 for 4. The teams will play a return match Saturday night in Chase 7pm.
