Release for: Sunday, November 5, 2023

KAMLOOPS, BC---The Kamloops Storm find themselves in a tie for second spot in the Doug Birks Division of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League after weekend play.

The Storm went into Osoyoos on Saturday (Nov 4) and came out with a 2-1 win over the Coyotes. But then fell 6-0 to the red hot Revelstoke Grizzlies on Sunday (Nov 5) at the McArthur Island Sports Center.

The result leaves Kamloops with an 11-3 record for 20 points in the Birks Division. That is tied with Revelstoke who have a game in hand. The Grizzlies—who had goals from six different players on Sunday: have 9 wins in their last 11 starts.

Goaltender Josef Kuchalso stopped 32 shots for his league leading 4th shutout of the year.

On Saturday: team captain Evan Clark had both goals for Kamloops in the win. He has nine goals on the year and had a league leading four game goal winning streak snapped in the shutout loss.

Kamloops played this weekend without five regulars and had to call up three affiliate players: Kamloops Minor Hockey products Noah Paulsen, Luca D'Amore and Aidan Fisher. D'Amore and Paulson play with the Thompson U-15 Blazers. Fisher attends Rink Academy.

Next action for the Storm is Friday November 10th when the Osoyoos Coyotes make a visit to the Olympic Ice Surface. Puck drop is 7:00 PM. If you cannot make the game live, it is shown on a pay-per-view basis on FloHockeyTV.
