Storm Strong in Sicamous

The Kamloops Storm scored less than two minutes apart in the second period to break a 1-1 tie en route to a 4-2 win over the Sicamous Eagles in KIJHL action Sunday afternoon in Sicamous. Harrison Ewert and Ryan Larsen scored back to back in the second after Ewert opened the game’s scoring in the first. Zack Brandson tied the game early in the second before the Storm broke it open. Sean Smith closed the gap to 3-2 five minutes in to the third but Ewert competed the hat-trick with an empty net goal late in the third and the Storm hung on for the win. Larsen added an assist to complete a two point game while Evan Douglas chipped in with two assists. Shots were 53-28 Kamloops as netminder Nate Hoffman picked up his first win of the season. The Eagles were 0 for 3 on the power play while the Storm were 1 for 5.
