Inspired by the pre-game honouring of the National U Sport Champion TRU Mens Soccer Team the Kamloops Storm jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a pair of goals scored by Kyle Sanford over the North Okanagan Knights. That lead would hold up for two periods. In the third Kamloops ran in to penalty trouble and the Knights would score two power play goals to send the game in to overtime and ultimately a shootout. Kamloops would score on 1 of 3 chances in the shootout while the Knights would score twice in two chances for the win. Kamloops was 1 for 6 on the power play and 2 for 4 on the penalty kill. Cody Creasy took the loss in net stopping 30 of 32 shots he faced.
