Bohmer Scores In Storm Debut, Victory In Princeton

PRINCETON, BC — It didn’t take long for the Kamloops Storm’s newest player to make an impact. Newly acquired Nathan Bohmer (Logan Lake, BC) scored 35 seconds into the second period helping lead the Storm to a 3-1 win over the Princeton Posse. The two teams played a Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Friday (Jan 12) at the Princeton and District Arena.
The teams were scoreless after the first period. Kamloops held a 2-1 advantage after two periods.
Bohmer, who was acquired from the 100 Mile House Wranglers at the KIJHL trading deadline on Wednesday (Jan 10), was assisted by Ryan Larsen (Kamloops, BC) and Sam Lewis (Kamloops, BC). Larsen had two assists in the contest.
Other Kamloops goals came off the sticks of Teghan Mullin (Kamloops, BC) and Evan Clark (Kamloops, BC). Josh Roy (Penticton, BC) was the only Posse player to beat Colton Phillips-Watts (Quesnel, BC) in goal for the Storm. He handled 37 shots including 14 in the final period. Joey Hawco (Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia) had 36 shots in goal for the Posse. The loss drops the Posse to 25-7-0-1 on the season. They have already clinched first place in the KIJHL Bill Olhuausen Division.
Kamloops improves to 23-8-0-1 on the year.
The Storm are back home Saturday (Jan 13) at the Mac Isle Olympic Ice Surface when they face the Chase Heat for the final time this year. Puck drop is 7 pm. Kamloops has won the last four games between the two teams after Chase won the series opener. Mullin and Devin Benson (Kamloops, BC) each have 7 points against the Heat in the regular season series.
