Two Late Goals Sink Storm In Game 1

Cole Senum with his 2nd power play goal in as many games gave the Kamloops Storm a brief 2-1 lead midway thru the third period in game one of the Birks Division final but two late goals less than a minute apart by the Grizzlies was all they would need as they hung on for a 3-2 win Friday night. Peyton Kelly scored the other Storm goal as Colton Phillips-Watts stopped 38 of 41 shots fired his way. Kamloops had 30 on Grizzly netminder Brandon Weare. The Storm had some good chances to tie the game but could not pull even. The Grizzlies went 2 for 5 on the power play while Kamloops went 1 for 4. Game two will be Saturday night in Revelstoke.
